[Editor's comment: Melvine and I have known Guy and Elizabeth Reed for about four decades. You could always count on them being present for conferences, conventions, camp meetings and general conferences. The last time we saw him was at the Beech Springs Camp Meeting of the Upper South Carolina Conference on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Stephanie and Greg were with Melvine and me. In fact, Stephanie died on Friday after we were in camp meeting on Wednesday. Mr. Reed was jovial as always, full of humor, his eyes sparkled and I think even danced with the excitement he was experiencing. The joy of the Lord was indeed his strength. He knew who we were, and we just caught up in our conversation from the previous time we had seen him. We honor this good man, full of faith and the Holy Spirit. We wish we could be there for his memorial service on Monday, September 9, 2013.]
