Growth continues at Holmes Bible College with plans to build new Holmes Memorial Church on the new campus

Dr. James D. Leggett writes, "The contract has been signed and Holmes Memorial Church will now officially be moving onto the Holmes Bible College campus!

"Construction is set to begin before Christmas on a five hundred seat auditorium, complete with classroom facilities, kitchen, and fellowship hall. The church will be located on the right side of the campus as you drive in, forming a complete 'U' together with the other campus buildings. Stay tuned for more updates!"

I think now in retrospect that I spoke prophetically when I wrote this about Dr. James D. Leggett and his becoming the pastor of Holmes Memorial Church on Sunday, August 14, 2011. I wrote in Hugh's News, "Dr. James D. Leggett will be a beacon of hope and confidence to the people at Holmes Memorial Church." Little did I know, but that seems to be the testimony of the people of the congregation.

Let us pray for the people at Holmes Memorial Church that through all of this transition and moving forward that God will strengthen and bolster their faith in Almighty God Who is our hope, our security, and our future. I am confident that there will be stories of many miracles and God's provision for the money necessary to build this new church that will be a lighthouse in the Greenville South Carolina community.

Things are happening at Holmes Memorial Church and the only way we can explain them is that God is still aware of this church and the people, and He has a wonderful destiny for them. In His providence He has moved upon both Brother Leggett and the congregation of Holmes Memorial Church to invite him to be their pastor.

Melvine and I felt so strongly about Brother Leggett becoming the pastor of Holmes Memorial Church that we drove up on the evening of our 51st Wedding Anniversary after a dinner in a fine restaurant in Commerce, GA, to spend the night in Hampton Inn in Traveler's Rest, SC, near the college campus, and attend the inaugural service of Dr. Leggett's first worship service and sermon as their new pastor. He preached a masterful sermon on "The Church." I can tell you it was a marvelous day, and we rejoiced in the good worship service that day.
