I wanted to share some things about my parents that perhaps you all don't know.
When I was a child and got lost in a grocery store, I would always look up for my father, and down for my mother. Amazingly, I found them every time.
I remember my parents telling me to remember the first astronaut who walked on the moon. That was 1969, when I was 5 years old. Not only do I remember the event, but I remember the living room and the black and white television we had there when Dad was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska.
I especially wanted to apologize to Mom and Dad that neither Stephanie nor I were married. Mom and Dad understandably want to be grandparents. So, I had a good idea . . . maybe they could adopt!
My mother is the greatest cook in the world, and Dad was always the one to go to whenever I needed money.
I would like you to know something about the ministry of my parents that you may not know. I can tell you they earnestly care about their parishioners. They pray for the needs of those in church and grieve over them when people have struggles, and of course, when people pass away. The genuine nature of Mom and Dad is perhaps rare in some circles; but, rest assured, they are for you, and wish you the best. In turn, Dad cares for all of his subscribers to Hugh's News.
Finally, I am grateful to have two dedicated, Christian parents who have done great things for God.
