"God Wants To Turn Your Desert Experience Into Fruitfulness!" -- Jon Oral Nash

One of the most fruitful places on the earth is the Amazon rainforest. Today, tropical rainforests cover only 6% percent of the earth’s surface, but inside them you’ll find half of the plant and animal species! In addition, they are extremely important to medical science. About 25% of today’s life-extending medicines come from the rainforest!

A recent study done by researchers from Israel, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Brazil shows that 50 million tons of dust from the deserts of Africa goes up into the sky, travel 4,000 miles across the ocean, and fertilizes the Amazon Rainforest!

This sand completely revitalizes the soil of the rainforest, so that the next season will produce more fruit. What’s even more amazing is this: over half of that dust reaching the Amazon actually originates from a single, tiny location in the Sahara, called The Bodélé depression, which is less than one percent of the size of the Amazon rainforest! Most of this dust travels across the ocean during North America’s winter season. That means God uses a tiny area of dust to fertilize something a hundred times larger so it produces great fruit. Can you say “hundredfold harvest!”

What can we learn from this? God wants to turn your desert experience into fruitfulness!

The purpose for your desert experience is for greater fruit in the next season.

The enemy wants you to believe that God’s favor has been removed from your life. The “American Dream” conveys the idea that you’re falling behind if you’re in a desert experience. However, God has not removed His favor from you – He’s using your desert experience to revitalize your character so you can produce more fruit in the future! God knows the destination you’re headed for, and He may be repositioning you for greater success in the future.

During the process, He wants to bring you back into complete dependence on Him so that you’ll stop listening to the voices of the enemy, and to the opinions of others and wrap your expectation around his words. When this happens, he lifts your heart and your eyes higher, so that you can see His vision-- the big picture of your life. It’s often difficult to spot opportunities when you’re focused on the desert that’s right in front of you. But once you can see life from a higher perspective, you’ll be able to see opportunities that will lead you into abundance and healing in the areas of life you need it most. As you read the following scripture, remember the goodness of God and release your faith that God will meet you where you are, and lead you by His spirit, so he can take you to new heights.

Deuteronomy 32:10-13 (NKJV)

“He found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye. As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings, so the LORD alone led him, and there was no foreign god with him. He made him ride in the heights of the earth, that he might eat the produce of the fields…”

[Editor's comment: God, through His Holy Spirit, directed Jon Oral Nash, grandson of Oral and Evelyn Roberts and Walter J. and Frances Nash, to attend the installation service for our new General Superintendent/Presiding Bishop, and the Executive Director of World Missions and the Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries in the Hilton Orlando Hotel on Friday night, July 2012. God wanted to get Ron Oral Nash to get in touch with his roots--the roots of his grandfathers who loved this church and invested their lives in promotion of it.

By a Word from the Holy Spirit, Ron was instructed to speak to me as I was walking alone in the corridor leading to the Orange Ball Room for the service. Our eyes met and our hearts were strangely warmed when I recognized after his introduction who he is, and he knew about me and Hugh's News because his uncle and the man who raised him and his two sisters, Brenda and Marcia, Bill Nash of Tulsa, OK and Jackson Hole Wyoming had been sending him Hugh's News, and encouraged him to come and meet me and the officials of the IPHC.

I was so elated and excited that I took the time to introduce Ron Oral Nash to all of our general officials and their wives, and many other people gathered at that historic event, prior to the beginning of the service. God has given me a new friend, and he would like to be invited to speak in our churches.

Ron Oral Nash is not only a successful businessman, he is an ordained minister of the Gospel. He served as an associate pastor in Rochester, NY, for four or five years. He has an amazing story.

My role in life now as I reach the age of 80 is to invest in young men and women, to encourage them, and to let them know God has a bright future for them.

Hugh's News is being used of God to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth, to keep our people informed, and to connect people with one another. This electronic newsletter belongs to God. He has raised it up to serve the IPHC ministries of 3.8 million members, in 103 countries, with 18,000 churches, and 25,000 ministers. I am a vessel submitted to Almighty God to please and glorify His Name.
