Dr. Elmer Towns to teach on "Spiritual Formation" at Southwestern Christian University

The Graduate School of Ministry at Southwestern Christian University is pleased to announce that Dr. Elmer Towns will be on campus August 29-31, 2011, teaching the inaugural class for this semester on "Spiritual Formation."

Dr. Towns is the co-founder and vice president of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Today that university has over 11,000 students on campus and 28,000 students in the distance learning program.

Dr. Towns has published over 100 books listed in the Library of Congress, with several featured prominently on the best selling list and many used as college textbooks. He has given lectures and taught seminars at over 50 theological seminaries in America and abroad. He has written over 2,000 reference and / or popular articles.

He holds a B.A. degree from Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a M. A. degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, a Th. M. degree from Dallas Theological Seminary also in Dallas, a M.R.E. degree from Garrett Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois and a D. Min. degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.
