A request from Dr. Tony Moon, Professor at Emmanuel College
"I’m wondering if you could do me a favor. I have been engaged in serious research, writing, and publishing on the life and theology of Bishop J. H. (Joseph Hilary) King since 2005. Since 2006 I have regularly published King papers in the Journal of Pentecostal Theology and read some of them at annual meetings of the Society for Pentecostal Studies.
"Would you mind soliciting help for me from your Hugh’s News readers relative to information about Bishop King they might have or to which they might have access? Perhaps there are some readers of Hugh’s News who are old enough to remember something about Bishop King (1869-1946) or to remember something they heard someone else say about him: personal impressions, personal recollections, personal conversations, quotations, preaching and teaching style, leadership style, temperament, what he was passionate about, etc. Also, I sure would appreciate any hard copy materials they could send my way either by snail mail, fax, or e-mail attachment. (After I use such materials, I would pass them on to IPHC Archives and Research in Bethany.)
"Bishop King was a great early IPHC leader, but he is also increasingly recognized in Pentecostal academia as a great theological thinker in the early Pentecostal movement as a whole. I would appreciate any assistance anyone might give me in my continuing research. Of course, Dr. Morgan, if you feel this request is out-of-place for any reason, I’ll respect that and understand.
"Thanks much and I pray for God’s continued blessing upon you and Hugh’s News.

[Editor's Note: Research and writing about the writings of our church fathers is vital to our history, and the availability of materials that we could read. Dr. Tony Moon's request is in order and I am delighted to play a small part in helping him with his research and writing. If you have such knowlege or any materials, I urge you to cooperate with Dr. Tony Moon. He is a friend of our family. He is highly intelligent and is a good preacher, too.]
