The Scripture reading for today is recorded in 1 Corinthians 4:2

1 Corinthians 4:2
Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

Editor's Commentary on Today's Scripture as it applies to the life  and ministry of Scott Muse

It can be said of Scott that he passed the course in faithfulness. I knew him as a faithful husband, father, churchman, and businessman, as well as President of Southwestern College (now Southwestern Christian University) in Bethany, OK.

When I was a student at Holmes Bible College, Dr. Paul F. Beacham often quoted this saying of his:

"When time is a story, and all the vain things of this life have passed into nothingness, only the faithful in Christ will shine as the stars in the brightness of His firmament."

Scott Muse was faithful. He was a loyal and true son in the Pentecostal Holiness family. He loved Lesta, his children, and extended family, people, this church of ours, was a gifted and talented Christian businessman, Sunday school teacher, and friend. I can hear his laugh even as I write.

He came to my rescue and saved the day at Southwestern College to get the financial situation under manageable control. He didn't have to do it. He had many other things to do. He did it to help me save the school that he dearly loved. He and I, and our families attended Muse Memorial Church together, and we often dined together at various restaurants in OKC, and visited one another. He and Lesta were wonderful people. We enjoyed attending Muse Memorial with them. He taught the Adult Sunday school class of which I was a part as a student. He was a masterful teacher who could engage his students in vigorous and valuable discussion of the Scriptures and how they applied to us in our daily lives.
