Committed to Serve IPHC ministries and the body of Christ worldwide

Hugh's News is committed to serve IPHC ministries and the body of Christ worldwide.

The original purpose of Hugh's News was an ordinary newsletter I designed for some 13 active duty chaplains, 13 years ago, who were scattered all across the United States and in other foreign countries. That was a small beginning. This newsletter began to grow, and by word of mouth we achieved about 2,500 subscribers when I was using AOL. Because of a complaint from a non-registered reader, AOL terminated me permanently claiming that I had violated Spam Laws. The charge was inaccurate and without substantial evidence, and I was not able to appeal to top leadership of AOL. I had to deal with bureaucrats. That was a bitter pill to swallow.

I really love Eugene H. Peterson's rendering of what the Apostle Peter wrote:

1 Peter 3:16-17
16 Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They'll end up realizing that they're the ones who need a bath. 17 It's better to suffer for doing good, if that's what God wants, than to be punished for doing bad.

The Prophet Isaiah wrote these words:

Isaiah 55:12-13
You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills, the trees of the field--all the world around you--will rejoice. 13 Where once were thorns, fir trees will grow; where briars grew, the myrtle trees will sprout up. This miracle will make the Lord's Name very great and be an everlasting sign [of God's power and love].

Writing for me used to be a chore. I remember when I thought I could not write a sermon. God has changed my mind about that. However, to write Hugh’s News continues to be a challenge for me. What I thought was a major weakness in my life, it has now turned out to be a strength. That’s what God can do for any individual who will place his or her life at the disposal of God. That is my definition of the word "commitment." I give God all the praise, honor, and glory for the special talent He has given me to write. Now, I enjoy it. It is a lot of fun, although hard work, and I enjoy writing to serve my readers wherever you may be in God's wide world. God has great things in store for you, too.

Last September (2009) I had a visitation from the Lord Jesus Christ. He spoke to me telling me that He is writing a new chapter in my life, and that He is closing other chapters. In that process, He said, "Don't look behind, not even in the rear view mirror. Remember what happened to Lot's wife." Later, He told me that the Word He had given me was not for me alone, but for all those to whom I would communicate. So, God is writing a new chapter in your life, and is closing other chapters.

God has provided professional website and newsletter designers who have come alongside of me and Hugh's News to give a more professional look, with more efficient back up systems to make this newsletter all it can be in this technological age. God wants you to have the best, too.

Although we have reached some 5,000 readers, I sense now that God would have us reach for the stars and gain 5,000 more readers. That is where you can come in to help me.

If everyone will get just one other person to subscribe, we could have an additional 5,000 readers overnight and maybe more.

I really need your help to assist me in making Hugh’s News become all that God wants it to be. I envision 5,000 more readers with your help. Nothing is impossible with God. Will you help me?

God responds to faith, and the Bible teaches us in the faith chapter of the Bible, Hebrews 11:6, that . . . “without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (NIV).

I am counting on you to help me. Thank you in advance!

Your friend in all seasons,

Hugh Holmes Morgan

Dr. Morgan, don't lament AOL's actions. What the enemy meant for harm the Lord has turned to good. This newsletter is an excellent communication and an marked improvement from the limitations you had with AOL. I applaud your efforts. Richard Goad, Senior Pastor of River of Life Church, OKC.
