Dear Chaplain Morgan,
Words cannot fully express our joy and appreciation for the opportunity to attend the IPHC 2011 Chaplains, Spouses, and Friends Retreat at Founders Inn, in Virginia Beach, VA. In our opinion, this was the best one we have had the opportunity to attend.
Accommodations were outstanding . . . the Banquet was first-class, for which we appreciate the extra hard work of Karen and Ken Godfrey; renewing old friendships (age not included), as well as meeting new chaplains and their spouses and Bishop Thompson and members of the Chaplains Ministries board . . . and seeing the delight on your face as well as hearing the expressions of your tender heart . . . all this and much more made this retreat extremely special to us.
We are so glad you asked Chaplain Richardson (the Air Force still flies high) to be our guest speaker and Dr. Synan to share his eyewitness account of the work of the Holy Spirit in his and our life-time. Not only as we serve in the military, but in each and every life, we still desire to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit, so that we can live and speak "Moral Courage" into the lives of others with life-changing power.
It was also great to hear the good news of Russell Gunter being selected to serve as administrative assistant to the executive director of the NAE Commission on Chaplains . . . and to celebrate Chaplain Tim Moore's selection for promotion to the rank of Commander--Go Navy!
Janice and I thank you for the opportunity to glorify God in song. We are so grateful to the Lord for His presence and the visitation of the Holy Spirit. Little did we know that Melvine had also selected a song on "Grace" . . . what a blessing. And to be accompanied by Arlette Revells on the piano in "It is Well with My Soul" during Holy Communion. We give the Lord all the praise!
Lou, thank you for so graciously sharing the truth of waiting and allowing God to place His fitted yoke upon our shoulders, so that we might find rest for our souls as we walk in obedience in the field of service the Lord has prepared for us.
Sir, again, thank you for an exciting and fulfilling retreat. And thank you for all your years of service to our Military Chaplains and the Chaplains Ministries of the IPHC.
Serving together in His Kingdom,
Bob & Janice Lynch
