Thanks to alert, astute and erudite readers, I can now stand approved as corrected. Thanks to a reader of Hugh's News, I have been corrected on Colleen Mashburn's birth date. I do make mistakes, and I am always grateful to those who see my blind spots. We call them blind spots because we do not see them.
Colleen Mashburn's birthday is June 27.
Colleen and Freeman Mashburn are Great Americans and Patriots. They are the kinds of people you will want to know and have as your friends. They are genuine Christians and disciples of Jesus Christ.
At the end of each blog (article) there is a section for comments. Don't fail to look at those. Let me give you one that was written by the Rev. Dr. Dan Beller. Of course, he included Marie, his wife, in his remarks:
"Col. Mashburn, Congratulations on your 92nd birthday! You have been a terrific inspiration to Marie and me for many years. We admire you and Colleen for the graceful and dignified leadership you have given to the IPHC and to us, personally. Thanks for being such a Christ-like example to us and many others of our Minister friends. We remember the beautiful singing of Colleen at our East Oklahoma Camp Meeting (now New Horizons Ministries) in Ada, OK. May God bless both of you and please know that our love and prayers are with you on this very special occasion. Dan and Marie Beller."

I am not telling the age of Colleen, but her birthday is June 27 (please make a note of it, and put it on your 2011 Calendar).
Freeman and Colleen have five (5) children: Bob, Joe, Jim, Patricia, and John.
May God grant Freeman and Colleen wisdom and glowing health (Daniel 2:23, The Living Bible).
[Editor's Comment: It is my desire and hope that I may be able to visit with Freeman and Colleen on my next trip to Oklahoma City, and take them out to dinner (I call it supper). They have a lovely home. They worship at River of Life Church (formerly called Muse Memorial Church). I enjoy worshiping there, too, when I am in OKC on a Sunday. Melvine and I thank God for our friends like Freeman and Colleen Mashburn who have been examples and mentors to us over the years. Our lives have been enriched by knowing this godly couple who love Jesus with all their hearts, minds, souls, and strength.]
