Chaplain, Major Randy Sellers has been injured in an auto accident in Okinawa, Japan

Early Wednesday morning, October 5, 2011, I received the following e-mail from Sheila Sellers informing me about an auto accident that has injured Randy Sellers, her husband. They are in Japan in his new assignment at Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan.

I had sent an e-mail to Randy and Sheila last evening, and low and behold, Sheila wrote me immediately:

Here is what Sheila wrote:

"I was just typing another email to you so I will just respond in this email.

"I wanted to thank you for all of your words of encouragement and for your continued prayers. Thinking back over our week so far, I am reminded of all of the prayers you and others pray over us.

This past Monday, 3 October 2011, (late Sunday evening stateside), Randy had a wreck. He was taken care of at the scene and was taken to the military hospital with a fractured rib and pulmonary contusion (bruised lung) both on his right side.

By looking at the car, I see God's hand of protection . . . Randy was hit right behind his door and to the back side panel. His side airbag deployed further protecting him. We didn't even know the car had side airbags since we had only owned the car for 2 days.

Our Chapel Staff family has taken such good care of us and we love them like family already. Randy is resting here in our lodging room. He is doing fine, but has pain and discomfort with the rib and lung injuries. I am sitting here watching him rest and thanking God for sparing my husband's life. God is certainly good, but He is more than that . . . He is our Peace, Protector, Provision, Healer, and our Savior.

I'm forever grateful.

I wanted to keep you informed on what was going on with us.

We can still laugh, though. I said that with my injuries/surgeries on my left side and his injuries on his right side . . . we make ONE complete person!!! Ha! Ha!

We love you and thank you for keeping our names before the people so that they may pray for us and all of our Chaplains and their families.

Sheila Sellers
. . . . . .

In an e-mail to my chairman, Bishop Chris Thompson, his administrative assistant, Nina Brewsaugh, Presiding Bishop Ronald W. Carpenter, Sr., Bishop Frank Tunstall, Bishop Leroy Baker, Bishop Wesley Russ, and Mrs. Evelyn "Deedee" Springer (an intercessor and supporter of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC and our chaplains), I wrote the following message:

I wanted you all to know immediately. I will get this news out in Hugh's News tomorrow. Randy is a rising star in the Air Force Chaplaincy. It is ever so important for us to pray for our military chaplains.

And now, I offer you the opportunity to pray for Chaplain Randy Sellers and his wife, Sheila. God has spared his life, and now we ask God to provide healing and a speedy recovery. Right now, he needs to be still and know God in a more intimate way as he experiences God's grace, mercy, love, and abiding presence in time of need (Psalm 46:10).

I submit to you the following Scripture for Randy's healing: Jeremiah 30:17a, “For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord.”

I believe God's Word and this Scripture is more than adequate for Randy Seller's healing, and restoration to health.
