On behalf of the entire AF ISR Agency (Air Force Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Agency, I would like to congratulate Chaplain, Captain William J. Braswell from the 70th ISR Wing, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland for his selection as the 2010 AF ISR Agency SENSOR Chaplain Award winner.

I am proud to have Chaplain Braswell represent the AF ISR Agency for this award and wish him future success in his ministry to our airmen.

Again, congratulations!

BRADLEY A. HEITHOLD, Maj Gen, USAF
Commander

Chaplain Braswell was just told by his Wing Chaplain that he was also named AFISRA (Air Force Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Agency) Chaplain of the Year.

The AFISRA SENSOR chaplain award is for any chaplain attached to an intel (intelligence) unit, while the AFISRA Chaplain of the Year is for chaplains actually assigned to AFISRA.

Chaplain Braswell is assigned to AFISRA (Air Force Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Agency). USAFE (United States Air Force in Europe) and ACC (Air Combat Command) are MAJCOMs (Major Commands) while AFISRA is an Agency (not big enough to be a MAJCOM although it functions like one.

Jamie Braswell's package will now go forward to compete for the Edwin R. Chess Award, an award given for the Air Force Company Grade Chaplain of the Year. He will compete with other Company Grade Officers and it may be that another outstanding IPHC Air Force chaplain may be placed in the running for this significant award. We are blessed to have outstanding Air Force chaplains who represent us, the IPHC, exceptionally well.

In addition, Chaplain Jamie Braswell, Sandra, Preston, and Abbie will be moving to Fort Hood by May 1, 2011, to begin the Army Family Life Training Course. It will be a year or more of intensive education and training. He will be able to earn a Master's degree in  Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University, Part of the Texas A&M System. They hope to leave Maryland on April 13,  and visit with family on the way to Texas.

Chaplain Braswell as been awarded an AFIT (Air Force Institute of Technology) scholarship for this training as well as a Master's degree. In addition, he is completing his D. Min. degree from Columbia International University.

Chaplain, Captain William Jamie Braswell is a graduate of Holmes Bible College, and the School of Divinity, Regent University. He is an ordained minister in the Redemption Ministries Conference.

As his endorser, I am very proud of Chaplain Braswell and his family. We wish them well as he continues his exciting career as an Air Force chaplain as he receives honors and scholarships to further his education.
