Chaplain (Captain) Sarah Tarpley reports from Iraq

It is so refreshing to have our IPHC military chaplains reporting and keeping me informed of their extensive ministries on the battle front.

Chaplain (Captain) Sarah Tarpley, USA, sent the following e-mail on Tuesday, August 16 from an unidentified location in Iraq:

"Family & Friends,

"Just a quick note to let you all I arrived safely in Iraq. It was an exciting trip to say the least. I will continue to keep you all informed as things happen.

"We are still waiting on some final approval for our mission. We may very well move and be mobile. I will again keep you informed as my address changes. Basic hygiene items are always welcomed for myself and the troop because most of the PX's are closed or have very minimum items.

"I love you all and so appreciate all ya'll have done for me. Some of you have my address, and some don't; but, I will send it to you in a day or two. For those that have it please don't include the line that says Camp Taji. Just list the APO AE plus zip. Take care and I'll get with you all soon."

Your Chaplain,
Chaplain (CPT) Sarah Tarpley

[Editor's Comment: Chaplain Sarah Tarpley is a God-called Army chaplain. He has prepared her to be where she is today ministering to some of the finest American soldiers in our history. She is an ordained minister of the Heartland Conference where Bishop Frank Tunstall is the superintendent.

The soldiers to whom she ministers daily are all volunteers. She believes she is there by a mandate from God to be with these soldiers in her battalion, and to experience what they experience. She will be conducting worship services, prayer meetings, Bible studies, and counseling. She serves on the commander's staff and will be expected to advise him on all matters regarding the spiritual and moral aspects of the troops. I am very proud of Sarah. She was blessed by having the opportunity to attend and participate in our most recent Chaplains, Spouses, and Friends Retreat at Founders Inn, Virginia Beach, VA.]
