Chaplain, Captain Chad Bellamy is the recipient of the 2010 USAFE Edwin Chess Award

Chaplain, Captain Chad A. Bellamy is the recipient of the 2010 United States Air Forces Europe Edwin Chess Award which recognizes outstanding ministry contributions to Airmen serving within the European theater.

Chaplain Bellamy is the Installation Chaplain for the 421 Air Base Group, RAF Menwith Hill/Menwith Hill Station, Harrogate, UK.

Chad and his family arrived in August 2009 from Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX, where he served as Protestant Chaplain. As a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) resident, he completed four Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) units of training.

In his current assignment he oversees the Station's Chapel program and its multiple weekly worship opportunities and community support. He also provides invocations for formal events, quarterly awards and promotion ceremonies. Working in a joint service environment, Chaplain Bellamy engages Global War on Terror by offering advice to unit leadership at all levels, as well as spiritual guidance, support and counsel to members of all military branches, supporting Constitutional rights to freedom of religious expression across the full spectrum of military and civilian personnel and their families assigned or attached to RAF Menwith Hill or detachments of RAF Menwith Hill.

Chaplain Bellamy is from Toccoa, GA, where he graduated with numerous honors from Stephens County High School in 1988.

He was ordained by the International Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1995 and is an ordained minister of the Georgia Conference.

Before receiving a direct commission in December 2002, he served on the pastoral staff at Parkway Temple in Chesapeake, VA, South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church in Henderson, NC, and Christian Life Worship Center in Athens, GA.

He and his wife, Jeri, have three children. Parker (12), Daisy (7) and Asher (2).
