On August 21st, 2010, [less than nine months ago] Bishop Boggs was elected to serve as the ninth Conference Superintendent of the Upper South Carolina Conference. To have heard his State of the Conference Report one would have thought that he was completing his first term of service rather than his ninth month of service. Bishop Boggs delivered a report that gave attendees an honest assessment of their current condition while speaking optimistically and even prophetically about their future. His sense of courage, wisdom and maturity were what you would expect from a veteran not a “rookie” Superintendent. One of the observations that I made while seated on the platform and taking note of the activities around me was that the ministry team [both Executive Council members and Conference Ministry Directors] he has surrounded himself with is as optimistic about their future as he is. They really appear to be “banded together” in vision, spirit and purpose! Bishop Boggs consented to my attaching a copy of his Report to this COB News Release. It is a “model” State of the Conference Report.
The Annual Conference Session Agenda also included the signing of the IPHC Centennial Covenant by all USC senior pastors and Executive Council members. I honor Bishop Boggs for his desire to have the members of the Upper South Carolina Conference to make covenant with leaders across the IPHC by affixing their signature to this historic document.
Ray and Karen represent the future, not only of the Upper South Carolina Conference, but also the IPHC. They are exceptionally well-grounded and confident that God, who has begun a good work in them, will bring it to completion!
May every benefit and gift that comes from God our Heavenly Father, be graced on Bishop Ray and Karen Boggs, as well as their family, as they provide vision and leadership for our extended family members in the Upper South Carolina Conference.
Bishop Boggs ended his State of the Conference address by asking the members of his Conference “To Pray, to Work and to Dream with him…” I determined that I also would covenant and dream with him so that “every person within the Upper South Carolina Conference will obtain the ENTIRE INHERITANCE that God has for them.”
