On Saturday, June 4th, it was my pleasure to preside over the Promotional Conference session of the Rocky Mountain Conference which was held at the Thrive Church in Denver, Colorado.
The conference began with a campmeeting worship service on Thursday evening and a special message, “Pursuing The Enemy” by Bishop Larry Herrera. The service had 200 in attendance.
Friday morning, featured two teaching sessions. Dr. Brett Cooper taught a great leadership lesson on “The Good Shepherd” from 9-10:45 a. m.. and I followed with the Vision 20/20 presentation from 11am -12pm. The V20 material was once again received enthusiastically. However, that was quite easy to accomplish since over one half of those present was under 35 years old and totally excited about the new IPHC branding campaign! There were approximately 100 present for the training.
Friday at lunch, First Lady of the Rocky Mountain Conference, June Herrera, hosted a luncheon for the ladies of the conference and had 64 in attendance. First lady of the IPHC, Nan Carpenter, was the invited speaker and according to the attendees did an excellent job and blessed the ladies!
The Friday evening service focused on the youth with 300 people present for a very cutting edge, audio/ video presentation by Jonathan Burgess, great Praise & Worship led by Jake Ishmael (RMC DMD Director), and a powerful message to the youth by Charles Boyd, IPHC National Youth Pastor. The service closed with a great deliverance service around the altar for 12 young people who came forth confessing to have been abused and molested. There was a powerful anointing present to bring healing as they wept, hugged one another, and even fell out in the Spirit. It was a great night!
The Conference business session began on Saturday at 9 a. m. and concluded at 1:30 p. m. with an attendance of 223 people. The session was opened with Praise & Worship followed by a Welcome and Prayer from Bishop Herrera.
After being introduced as the Presiding Officer, I called for the Examining Committee Report. There were 24 to receive a Local Church Minister’s License, 5 to receive a Minister’s License, and 2 to be Ordained. The Local Church Licenses were presented at this time and the other credentials were presented later during the actual ordination service which was held from 12:00 -1:30pm. The Ordination Service concluded the business session and was powerful with tears and prophecy being evident!
After presentation of the Local Church Licenses, the following conference ministry directors gave a verbal report. (1) Dr. Brett Cooper- Assistant Superintendent & EVUSA Director, (2) Rev. Jake Ishmael–-Discipleship Ministries Director, (3) Rev. Tyler Clark–- Former missionary and Conference Missions Director, (4) Rev. Robert Lopez–-Director of Hispanic Ministries, (5) Mrs. Laura Stewart Clark–-Director of Women’s Ministries, and (6) Rev. Joe Sanchez--Director of Men’s Ministries. Rev. Steven Hanscom, Loan Officer from the Extension Loan Fund, was also present and gave a presentation for ELF. In a reversal of the usual format, the Bishop gave his report last and was applauded when he stepped onto the platform and highly applauded when he stepped off.
Commendations and congratulations are in order for the Rocky Mountain Conference and its very capable leadership team! They are doing a powerful job of revitalizing and renewing the work of the IPHC in the state of Colorado!
