In an e-mail on Friday, November 25, 2011, from Bishop Doug Beacham, Vice Chairman of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and Executive Director of World Missions Ministries he writes:
Hugh,
We are continuing to pray for Stephanie and all of you. I know this is a disappointing way to spend Thanksgiving, but the Lord has all of you in His caring hands.
I was in Hong Kong about two weeks and thought of the efforts of people like your Mother who helped lay the foundation for one of the strongest and most missions oriented IPHC congregations in the world, the Wing Kwong PHC.
Matt Bennett, Ernest Turner, and I were with Willard and Yvonne Wagner in Lagos, Nigeria last weekend for the 4th National Conference of the Nigeria IPHC, West Africa Bible College graduation, and the West Africa Leadership Conference. Almost all our national leaders in West Africa were present, including Rev. Bruce Koffigan, President of the Pentecostal Church of Togo (IPHC Togo). Friday night a week ago he preached from Philippians 1:12, "I want you to know that what has happened to me, has actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel."
This morning as I read your Hugh News about Stephanie I thought of that verse for her and all of you: that the truth of the Gospel is being spread through Stephanie's faithful testimony as she walks through these things that "happen" to her.
Blessings to all of you and may you have special strength and grace in these days. Doug and Susan
[Editor's comment: After I read this inspiring message from Bishop Doug Beacham, I immediately called Stephanie at the hospital and read it to her. I could tell she was rejoicing in the Lord, although she has a case of laryngitis. Thank the Lord, we brought her home Friday afternoon. She is resting comfortably in our home.]
