The Camp Meeting Services were awesome! Great crowds attended each evening. There was good attendance in the morning teaching times which were rich. “Conquest" from Emmanuel College led worship each evening. Everyone was blessed by their sincerity and skill in leading us before the Lord in worship.
The anointed and dynamic preaching of Joey Elsky, Stacy Hilliard and Presiding Bishop Ronald W. Carpenter, Sr. were powerful followed by great altar services.
The 100th Georgia Conference in session on Friday and Saturday mornings elected the following persons to serve on the Conference Executive Council:
Conference Superintendent: Bishop Bill Jones (serving his third term)
Assistant Superintendent: Rev. Tim Lamb (serving his third term)
Secretary-Treasurer: Rev Bert Synan (serving his second term)
Council Members: Rev. Jeff Thomas (serving his second term)
Rev. Rick Womack (serving his first term)
Rev. Trey Jones (serving his first term)
Rev. Ryan Linkous (serving his first term)
Bishop Carpenter and Nan were honored by the Conference on Friday evening for being with us on their 44th wedding anniversary. Nan was given red roses and Bishop was given gift certificates to Red Lobster.
[Editor's Note: The Georgia Conference is my conference. I am originally from the Alabama Conference, now renamed Alpha Conference. It is my opinion that this year's camp meeting and quadrennial conference were the best in recent years. It is good to elect younger men to serve on the conference board while having men like Bishop Bill Jones and Pastor Timothy Lamb as older, seasoned pastors and leaders. I am pleased with our new leadership while thanking God for those who have served our conference over the years.
John Ingham was honored on Saturday morning in recognition of his leadership as a credentialed minister of the Gospel in the Georgia Conference for 50 years. He served as our conference superintendent for 12 years. He was recently our pastor in Athens, GA, at Christian Life Worship Center (formerly known as the Tarkenton Memorial Church). John and Rita are now the pastors of the Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church in the Upper South Carolina Conference. We wish them God's continued blessings in the extensive ministries He is now giving them.]
The Rev. Mr. Keith Hearn was also recognized the first night of camp meeting as a former conference superintendent. Keith and Sue Hearn are the parents of Greg Hearn, Chief Executive Officer of Life Springs Resources, and director of Communications for the IPHC.
