Letter from Greg Terry

Greetings friends,

I would like to release an update on my father, Bill Terry. He has been diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma and below you will find a letter that he personally has written and released to the IPHC leadership. I was concerned that there would be some confusion as the news began to disperse so I have decided to utilize the great resource of Hugh's News to release an official update on his condition.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and concern as they are very important and welcomed. His schedule will be quite intensive with his treatment regimen beginning next week.

I know that many of you would like to communicate with him or send him an encouraging note. That is perfectly acceptable and welcomed. For that reason a separate email address has been established and you are invited to send your correspondence there.

That email address is: billterryinfo@gmail.com

Thank You and may the Lord bless you abundantly this Christmas season,

Greg Terry

Letter from Bill Terry, Executive Director, Men's Ministries, IPHC

In my last report on December 18, 2011, I updated you with the results of a biopsy procedure on December 16 that revealed a diagnosis of mantle cell lymphoma. On Tuesday morning December 19, I received a call from my primary physician informing me that he had received the pathology report and it confirmed the lymphoma diagnosis. He immediately scheduled me to see an oncologist in the afternoon.

Accompanied by wife Rita, sons Greg and Rodney, we met with the oncologist who gave us a comprehensive and optimistic review of my condition. He explained my treatment process that will begin next week with my first chemotherapy treatment. Tomorrow, I will have a pet-scan, lab work, and echo cardiogram. Early next week I will have a surgical procedure to implant a port for receiving the chemotherapy treatments. My treatments will be in three week intervals and I am scheduled for a regiment of six treatments.

I am blessed to be serving a great God, the support of an awesome family, two great doctors, and the love and concern of so many friends and colleagues across the church.

I am encouraged and ready to get started with my regimen. My plans at this time are to attend Bridging Our Ministries VI on January 19-21, 2012, in North Carolina. My schedule and work routine will be monitored by my doctor and I will make wise decisions relating to travel and office hours.

Finally, thank you for your prayers and support. I began my Christian walk on February 23, 1969. I have stayed the course of faith and trust in God. I have no plans to alter my spiritual journey and discipline. I am confident that God will finish what He started. Blessings!

[Editor's Comment: We serve a great God. He is the God of Miracles. Nothing is too hard for Him. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross of Calvary, to be buried and the third day to rise from the dead in resurrection glory. He defeated death, hell and the grave, and openly exposed Satan for who he is: a liar, deceiver, and a mean devil.

The Bible says that "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

"For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:19-21, KJV).

There is nothing good about the devil, known as Satan. He is out to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. And, with the stripes of Jesus we have been healed.

Jesus it the Healer. While He ministered on earth as the God-Man, He revealed that God heals the sick, opens the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf, and causes the lame to walk. He calms the storms in our lives, and says, "Peace be still." All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Him. He said in John 15:16, "You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it you"
(KJV).

The prophet Isaiah wrote: "Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward" (Isaiah 58:8, KJV).

Let us confess what the Bible says about healing, and intercede for Bill Terry that God will speedily heal him.

I have known Bill Terry for many years. I followed him as the senior pastor at Richmond First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Richmond. He and I have a lot in common and have ministered to the same people whom we both love and will always love.

Bill Terry is a beloved brother in Christ, and I hold him and his wife, Rita, in high esteem. They are some of God's choice servants.]
