Bill Terry, director of Men's Ministries, gives a glowing report about his health process

General MM Board Members and Conference Directors, as well as the readers of Hugh's News:

Greetings! Today is the 12th day since receiving my first Chemotherapy treatment on December 29, 2011.

Saturday, Day 10 was supposed to be my worst day, but it turned out to be my best day. The Lord is good! It was a beautiful day in Oklahoma City and Bishop Talmadge Gardner took me for a ride, a good walk, and then we picked up some awesome food from one of my favorite restaurants. He is definitely making sure I stay full of protein.

Yesterday, I attended the morning service at River of Life Church and heard my pastor, Richard Goad speak. He is an exceptional pastor and has spoiled me with pastoral care since my diagnosis.

My next treatment is scheduled for January 24, 2012. This will be right after after Rita and I return from Bridging Our Ministries VI in Ridgecrest, North Carolina. I am feeling much stronger and look forward to working and preparing to travel next week.

I am so blessed to be part of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church family. I am receiving so much support thought emails, phone calls, and Facebook. I can't keep up with proper responses.

I got a good report from my doctor on Friday. My blood panels were so encouraging. Where my counts should have been going down due to the chemo, mine are going up. Praise God! Again, thanks for your prayers and concerns. Blessings!

[Editor's comment: What a man--a man of God who loves people and the ministry God has given him. I have known him for many years, and in fact, I was his successor at the Richmond First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is an exceptional leader, pastor, preacher, and organizer.

Let us join our hearts and voices in intercessory prayer for this good man for his complete and full healing.

We believe that Jesus heals today, and has in all generations of mankind. The Bible clearly states that Jesus received stripes for our healing.

Isaiah prophesied it:

Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
KJV

The Apostle Peter picks up these theme of healing when He boldly proclaimed that Jesus is the Healer:

1 Peter 2:22-25

22 "He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in His mouth."

23 When they hurled their insults at Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted Himself to Him Who judges justly. 24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree [cross], so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds [stripes] you have been healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
