[Editor's Note: I am grateful to Janice Robinson Russ for this obituary. I understand that the Rev. Mr. Joe Arthur sent it to Janice.

Here is what Janice wrote: I forgot to ask if you received the following obit for Jeanie Spence. She was the youngest child of Hubert T. Spence (sister of Talmadge Spence) and attended the National Church in DC until her marriage to Roy Yeatmann, then moved to Dunn, NC. Don't know if you remember her. She was an excellent organist and worked for a music company in downtown DC for a number of years. I don't know how many people are still around who remember the Spence family. Joe Arthur sent me the obituary--I guess it is from the Fayetteville News & Observer (or Raleigh).

Yes, I knew Jeanie Spence. As I recall I saw her at Gospel Tabernacle in Dunn, NC, and talked with her after the death of her brother, Talmadge Spence. My parents, Hugh Henry and Julia Payne Morgan knew Hubert and Vera.

I am confident that many of my readers will remember Jeanie Spence. She was a talented and gifted musician and a brilliant woman.]
