An update on the health of Brother John Swails of Franklin Springs,GA

I know that many of you are wondering about the health of Brother John Swails of Franklin Springs, GA, who has been hospitalized since late May. I know that many of you have been praying for his healing and recovery.

Last night, Wednesday, I talked with Ruthe Brookshire about the physical condition of Brother John Swails at the John Swails Convocation Center on the Campus of Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA. We are having the Georgia Conference Camp Meeting this week.

Here is Ruthe's report about Brother John Swails health:

"We are thankful for your prayers for Papa Swails and for his progress. The doctors have been amazed at his healing and say that he is a "'ighter.'

"Last week the doctors told Sylvia, his wife, that Papa Swails was malnourished, the he needed protein. Since then, he has been fed nourishment and protein by an IV drip. They also said, that the next few days would tell if he would make it. He has passed that deadline; his white blood cell level has decreased from 32,000 to 18,000. They want it to be at least down to 12,000.

"He developed an allergy to powerful antibiotics, although he is much better from that, however, his skin is peeling.

"He was transferred to Landmark Hospital in Athens on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. He is very swollen having accumulated 38 pounds of fluid since he went to the hospital.

"At this time, he is in a great deal of pain in his abdomen. We do not know what is causing this pain."

[Editor's Note: You would naturally know that Brother John Swails is a "fighter." Any man who lives to be 94 (he will be 95 in November) would have to be a fighter. Once when he broke a leg, he took that time of recuperation to memorize the entire Book of Romans.

Now is the time for us to join together in corporate prayer as Pastor John Greiner has written about in his message for today. Prayer moves mountains, and brings healing when we pray the "prayer of faith." We can do it.
