A tribute to Dr. Jerry B. Walker by Greg Morgan, son of Hugh and Melvine Morgan

"I'll see you in the funny papers," Jerry B. said to my sister Stephanie and me after eating supper. He had preached earlier that evening in our church. It was nice to know Brother Jerry B. Walker as both an evangelist and a friend.

I loved listening to his funny stories. I think it would be safe to say that he exaggerated at times which was not only effective, but also entertaining. He was one who could take a joke. I remember during one revival service at Tarkenton Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church in Athens, Georgia. I had forgotten my Bible. He asked me as he was preaching . . ."Greg, where is your Bible?" I responded, "I have it memorized." I'm glad he laughed.

Jerry B., enjoyed finer things and he wanted everything to be tidy. I imagine the streets of gold in heaven will be more golden for him, the jewels more precious, and he may even have two mansions.

Well, I miss you already. Thank you Jerry B. for your ministry.
