A note of appreciation from Ensign Jamil Khan concerning our retreat at Founders Inn

Dr. Morgan,

It was a true privilege for my wife, Jessica, and me to attend the 2011 Chaplains, Spouses, and Friends Retreat at Founders Inn, Virginia Beach, VA.

As a newly commissioned Ensign for the Navy Chaplain Candidate Program, the retreat gave us the invaluable opportunity to meet and form relationships with both active and retired military chaplains, as well as chaplain candidates within our denomination.

We were blessed by the teachings and encouraged by all we met. Upon hearing the words from Chief of the Air Force Chaplain, Cecil Richardson, I have never been more ready to serve my country and my God. Thank you for creating this opportunity that has so deeply touched our lives.

Sincerely,

Jamil Khan

[Editor's Note: Jamil Khan is a recently commissioned Ensign in the U. S. Navy's Chaplain Candidate Program. He is the senior pastor of Maranatha Fellowship Pentecostal Holiness Church in College Park, MD. He and his wife, Jessica, and infant daughter, Tirzah, were able to be with us for the retreat. Jessica's mother kept their two boys so Jamil and Jessica could attend. Her ministry to these grandsons enabled this young couple to attend with their infant daughter, Tirzah.

Bishop Wesley Russ groomed and mentored Jamil to become the pastor of the church there in College Park, MD. He is doing an excellent job in pastoring, preaching, and ministering to this congregation right in the middle of the University of Maryland. It is a world-class church with people from all over the world in attendance. He has a pastor's heart, and knows how to preach. He is involved in the M. Div. degree program for chaplains at Liberty University while continuing his duties and responsibilities as a local church pastor.]
