Viewing will be at 10 a.m. with the service following at 11 a. m.
The Rev. Dr. Vinson Synan will officiate with the assistance of the Rev. Mr. Don Scott, the Rev. Mr. Edward Richardson, and the Rev. Mr. Joe Rogers. Joe was the co-evangelist with James Taylor in the tent revival in West Virginia in 1954 where he met his bride to be, the former Miss Mary Bly McMillion.
Mark Taylor, the oldest son and child in the Taylor family, reported that the service in Oklahoma went very well. Speakers there included the Rev. Mr. Richard Goad, pastor of River of Life Church, Mrs. Shirley Spencer, and the Rev. Mr. Frank Porter. Music was provided by Mark Taylor's 18-voice ensemble, "VOICES."
Mark wrote the following, "My mom is absolutely delighted with your coverage of my dad's homegoing, and I thank you for helping to honor his life."
[Editor's comment: I am grateful to God for my association with James and Mary Taylor. I shall miss him greatly. I often called him when I was in Oklahoma City, and at other times as well over the years. Our ministry at Southwestern College was rewarding and fruitful. I shall always cherish the memory of this good man, a faithful and loving husband, father, and educator. He was a resourceful person and has contributed immeasurably to the Christian education of many people. I stand at attention and salute this man of God.]
